I used to camp in this bay as a youngster on school trips from County Durham. Our teacher was from Islay. He was a Macmillan and was related to people who had owned the crofts above the bay. He took us there several years running in the early 1970s. There is acave just to the left of this view where we cooked, and a stream and waterfall where we washed. I dropped an expensive camera in it once so I have reason to remember it. The old crofter was called Alistair and he lived with his sidter in the smaller croft. Sometimes they spoke gaelic and opften he would take us out inhis rowing boat. Happy days.
